RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Hylurgus ligniperda, an invasive species originating from Eurasia, is now a major forestry quarantine pest worldwide. In recent years, it has caused significant damage in China. While traps have been effective in monitoring and controlling pests, manual inspections are labor-intensive and require expertise in insect classification. To address this, we applied a two-stage cascade convolutional neural network, YOLOX-MobileNetV2 (YOLOX-Mnet), for identifying H. ligniperda and other pests captured in traps. This method streamlines target and non-target insect detection from trap images, offering a more efficient alternative to manual inspections. RESULTS: Two cascade convolutional neural network models were employed in two stages to detect both target and non-target insects from images captured in the same forest. Initially, You Only Look Once X (YOLOX) served as the target detection model, identifying insects and non-insects from the collected images, with non-insect targets subsequently filtered out. In the second stage, MobileNetV2, a classification network, classified the captured insects. This approach effectively reduced false positives from non-insect objects, enabled the inclusion of additional classification terms for multi-class insect classification models, and utilized sample control strategies to enhance classification performance. CONCLUSION: Application of the cascade convolutional neural network model accurately identified H. ligniperda, and Mean F1-score of all kinds of insects in the trap was 0.98. Compared to traditional insect classification, this method offers great improvement in the identification and early warning of forest pests, as well as provide technical support for the early prevention and control of forest pests. RESUMO

Alleviating the decomposition of the electrolyte is of great significance to improving the cycle stability of cathodes, especially for LiCoO2 (LCO), its volumetric energy density can be effectively promoted by increasing the charge cutoff voltage to 4.6 V, thereby supporting the large-scale application of clean energy. However, the rapid decomposition of the electrolyte under 4.6 V conditions not only loses the transport carrier for lithium ion, but also produces HF and insulators that destroy the interface of LCO and increase impedance. In this work, the decomposition of electrolyte is effectively suppressed by changing the adsorption force between LCO interface and EC. Density functional theory illustrates the LCO coated with lower electronegativity elements has a weaker adsorption force with the electrolyte, the adsorption energy between LCO@Mg and EC (0.49 eV) is weaker than that of LCO@Ti (0.73 eV). Meanwhile, based on the results of time of flight secondary ion mass spectrometry, conductivity-atomic force microscopy, in situ differential electrochemical mass spectrometry, soft X-ray absorption spectroscopy, and nuclear magnetic resonance, as the adsorption force increases, the electrolyte decomposes more seriously. This work provides a new perspective on the interaction between electrolyte and the interface of cathode and further improves the understanding of electrolyte decomposition.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The probability of motor deficits after stroke is relatively high. At the same time many studies have reported that acupuncture and rehabilitation therapy have a significant effect on the treatment of stroke. OBJECTIVE: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the clinical value of acupuncture and rehabilitation therapy on brain eloquent areas and neurological function in ischemic stroke. METHODS: Seven databases were electronically searched to screen randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of different intervention methods (acupuncture, rehabilitation) in the treatment of ischemic stroke. The search time is from January 1, 2000 to April 20, 2023, and the search languages are limited to Chinese and English. Two researchers independently screened literature and extracted data. The methodological quality of the studies was assessed using the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions. RESULTS: A total of 17 randomized controlled studies were included, including 699 patients, with a maximum sample size of 144 cases and a minimum sample size of 11 cases. Among them, 3 studies reported the brain function in SM1 area. The effective rate of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group [relative risk (OR) = 3.24, 95%CI: 1.49 to 7.05, P < 0.05]. The FMA score of patients in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group [mean difference (MD) = 4.79, 95% CI: 3.86 to 5.71, P < 0.00001]. The NIHSS score of patients in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group [mean difference (MD) = -4.12, 95% CI: -6.99 to -1.26, P < 0.05].None of studies reported adverse events. CONCLUSIONS: Acupuncture rehabilitation for ischemic stroke can activate corresponding brain functional areas and improve neurological deficits. The therapeutic effect of acupuncture rehabilitation treatment is better than that of basic western medicine treatment, and it is more effective in improving neurological deficits. At the same time, clinical research needs to use high-quality randomized double-blind controlled trials with more detailed and larger sample designs, long-term efficacy evaluation and evidence-based research methods.

RESUMO

V5S8 has received extensive attention in the field of sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) due to its two-dimensional (2D) layered structure, and weak van der Waals forces between V-S accelerate the transport of sodium ions. However, the long-term cycling of V5S8 still suffers from volume expansion and low conductivity. Herein, a hollow nanotube V5S8@C (H-V5S8@C) with improved conductivity was synthesized by a solvothermal method to alleviate cracking caused by volume expansion. Benefiting from the large specific surface area of the hollow nanotube structure and uniform carbon coating, H-V5S8@C exhibits a more active site and enhanced conductivity. Meanwhile, the heterojunction formed by a few residual MoS2 and the outer layer of V5S8 stabilizes the structure and reduces the ion migration barrier with fast Na+ transport. Specifically, the H-V5S8@C anode provides an enhanced rate performance of 270.1 mAh g-1 at 15 A g-1 and high cycling stability of 291.7 mAh g-1 with a retention rate of 90.98% after 300 cycles at 5 A g-1. This work provides a feasible approach for the structural design of 2D layered materials, which can promote the practical application of fast-charging sodium-ion batteries.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Ischemic stroke is a permanent neurological impairment resulting from the narrowing or blockage of blood vessels in the brain. The effectiveness of "Lifting Yang to Dredging Du Meridian Manipulation" (LYDD) acupuncture in clinical treatment of ischemic stroke patients has been well-established. Nevertheless, its mechanism is still uncertain. METHODS: MCAO/R rat models at different time points of reperfusion (24, 36, 48 and 72 h) were constructed, and LYDD acupuncture treatment was performed. Zea-Longa score and TTC staining were used for assessing neurological impairment and cerebral infarct in rats, respectively. The pathological changes of cerebral tissue in each group were observed by HE and Nissl's staining. Cerebral tissue from each group was subjected to RNA-seq, and differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were performed for GO and KEGG enrichment analysis, and hub gene was identified based on the String database and MCODE algorithm. RESULTS: LYDD acupuncture treatment significantly reduced Zea-Longa score, dry-wet weight ratio, infarct area, inflammatory factor levels (IL-1ß and TNF-α), cerebral lesions, number of Nissl body and neuronal apoptosis in the MCAO/R model at different time points of reperfusion. A total of 3518 DEGs were identified in the MCAO/R model compared to the control group, and 3461 DEGs were present in the treatment group compared to the MCAO/R model, and they may be implicated in neurotransmitter transmission, synaptic membrane potential, cell junctions, inflammatory response, immune response, cell cycle, and ECM. The expression trends of BIRC3, LTBR, PLCG2, TLR4 and TRADD mRNAs in the Hub gene were consistent with the RNA-seq results, and LYDD acupuncture treatment significantly inhibited MCAO/R-induced p65 nuclear translocation. CONCLUSIONS: LYDD acupuncture ameliorates cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury by inhibiting NF-κB pathway activity.

RESUMO

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have been reported as promising materials for electrochemical applications owing to their tunable porous structures and ion-sieving capability. However, it remains challenging to rationally design MOF-based electrolytes for high-energy lithium batteries. In this work, by combining advanced characterization and modeling tools, a series of nanocrystalline MOFs is designed, and the effects of pore apertures and open metal sites on ion-transport properties and electrochemical stability of MOF quasi-solid-state electrolytes are systematically studied. It isdemonstrated that MOFs with non-redox-active metal centers can lead to a much wider electrochemical stability window than those with redox-active centers. Furthermore, the pore aperture of MOFs is found to be a dominating factor that determines the uptake of lithium salt and thus ionic conductivity. The ab initio molecular dynamics simulations further demonstrate that open metal sites of MOFs can facilitate the dissociation of lithium salt and immobilize anions via Lewis acid-base interaction, leading to good lithium-ion mobility and high transference number. The MOF quasi-solid-state electrolyte demonstrates great battery performance with commercial LiFePO4 and LiCoO2 cathodes at 30 °C. This work provides new insights into structure-property relationships between tunable structure and electrochemical properties of MOFs that can lead to the development of advanced quasi-solid-state electrolytes for high-energy lithium batteries.

RESUMO

Due to high volumetric energy density, the major market share of cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries is still dominated by LiCoO2 (LCO) at a 3C field. However, a number of challenges will be triggered if the charge voltage is increased from 4.2/4.3 to 4.6 V to further increase energy density, such as a violent interface reaction, Co dissolution, and release of lattice oxygen. Here, LCO is coated with the fast ionic conductor Li1.8Sc0.8Ti1.2(PO4)3 (LSTP) to form LCO@LSTP, while a stable interface of LCO is in situ constructed by the decomposition of LSTP at the LSTP/LCO interface. As decomposition products of LSTP, Ti and Sc elements can be doped into LCO and thus reconstruct the interface from a layered structure to a spinel structure, which improves the stability of the interface. Moreover, Li3PO4 from the decomposition of LSTP and remaining LSTP coating as a fast ionic conductor can improve Li+ transport when compared with bare LCO, and thus boost the specific capacity to 185.3 mAh g-1 at 1C. Benefited from the stable interface and fast ion conducting coating, the LCO@LSTP (1 wt %) cathode delivers a high capacity of 202.3 mAh g-1 at the first cycle (0.5C, 3.0-4.6 V), and shows a higher capacity retention of 89.0% than LCO (50.9%) after 100 cycles. Furthermore, the change of the Fermi level obtained by using a kelvin probe force microscope (KPFM) and the oxygen band structure calculated by using density functional theory further illustrate that LSTP supports the performance of LCO. We anticipate that this study can improve the conversion efficiency of energy-storage devices.

RESUMO

Sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) have inspired the potential for widespread use in energy storage owing to the advantages of abundant resources and low cost. Benefiting from the layered structure, 2D-layered materials enable fast interlayer transport of sodium ions and thus are considered promising candidates as anodes for SIBs. Herein, a strategy of adjusting crystal orientation is proposed via a solvothermal method to improve sodium-ion transport at the edge of the interlayers in 2D-layered materials. By introducing surfactants and templates, the 2D-layered V5 S8 nanosheets are controlled to align the interlayer diffusion channels vertically to the surface, which promotes the fast transport of Na+ at the edge of the interlayers as revealed by experimental methods and ab initio calculations. Benefiting from the aligned crystal orientation and rGO coating, the vertical-V5 S8 @rGO hybrid delivers a high initial discharge capacity of 350.6 mAh g-1 at a high current density of 15 A g-1 . This work provides a strategy for the structural design of 2D-layered anode materials by adjusting crystal orientation, which demonstrates the promise for applications in fast-charging alkaline-ion batteries.

RESUMO

High-entropy oxide (HEO) is an emerging type of anode material for lithium-ion batteries with excellent properties, where high-concentration oxygen vacancies can effectively enhance the diffusion coefficient of lithium ions. In this study, Ni-free spinel-type HEOs ((FeCoCrMnZn)3O4 and (FeCoCrMnMg)3O4) were prepared via ball milling, and the effects of zinc and magnesium on the concentration of oxygen vacancy (OV), lithium-ion diffusion coefficient (DLi+), and electrochemical performance of HEOs were investigated. Ab initio calculations show that the addition of zinc narrows down the band gap and thus improves the electrical conductivity. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) results show that (FeCoCrMnZn)3O4 (42.7%) and (FeCoCrMnMg)3O4 (42.5%) have high OV concentration. During charge/discharge, the OV concentration of (FeCoCrMnZn)3O4 is higher than that of (FeCoCrMnMg)3O4. The galvanostatic intermittent titration technique (GITT) results show that the DLi+ value of (FeCoCrMnZn)3O4 is higher than that of (FeCoCrMnMg)3O4 during charge and discharge. All of that can improve its specific discharge capacity and enhance its cycle stability. (FeCoCrMnZn)3O4 achieved a discharge capacity of 828.6 mAh g-1 at 2.0 A g-1 after 2000 cycles. This work provides a deep understanding of the structure and performance of HEO.

RESUMO

The LiOH-based cathode chemistry has demonstrated potential for high-energy Li-O2 batteries. However, the understanding of such complex chemistry remains incomplete. Herein, we use the combined experimental methods with ab initio calculations to study LiOH chemistry. We provide a unified reaction mechanism for LiOH formation during discharge via net 4 e- oxygen reduction, in which Li2 O2 acts as intermediate in low water-content electrolyte but LiHO2 as intermediate in high water-content electrolyte. Besides, LiOH decomposes via 1 e- oxidation during charge, generating surface-reactive hydroxyl species that degrade organic electrolytes and generate protons. These protons lead to early removal of LiOH, followed by a new high-potential charge plateau (1 e- water oxidation). At following cycles, these accumulated protons lead to a new high-potential discharge plateau, corresponding to water formation. Our findings shed light on understanding of 4 e- cathode chemistries in metal-air batteries.

RESUMO

Rechargeable batteries are key in the field of electrochemical energy storage, and the development of advanced electrode materials is essential to meet the increasing demand of electrochemical energy storage devices with higher density of energy and power. Anode materials are the key components of batteries. However, the anode materials still suffer from several challenges such as low rate capability and poor cycling stability, limiting the development of high-energy and high-power batteries. In recent years, heterojunctions have received increasing attention from researchers as an emerging material, because the constructed heterostructures can significantly improve the rate capability and cycling stability of the materials. Although many research progress has been made in this field, it still lacks review articles that summarize this field in detail. Herein, this review presents the recent research progress of heterojunction-type anode materials, focusing on the application of various types of heterojunctions in lithium/sodium-ion batteries. Finally, the heterojunctions introduced in this review are summarized, and their future development is anticipated.

RESUMO

Recurrent miscarriage (RM) is one of the common complications of pregnancy, which is closely related to gene mutation. The profiling of non-coding RNAs showed that the expression level of long non-coding RNA LINC01347 (LINC01347) in the serum of patients with recurrent abortion was significantly increased, which could serve as a potential marker for early diagnosis. However, the biological functions of LINC01347 in the miscarriage remain to be elucidated. In this study, LINC01347 expression levels in HTR-8/SVneo cells and placenta samples were measured by RT-qPCR. The migration ability of HTR-8/SVneo cells was detected by wound-healing assay. Western blotting (WB) assay was conducted to measure E-cadherin, Vimentin, N-cadherin, PTEN, phospho-AKT(S473), phospho-AKT(T308) and AKT levels. Dual luciferase reporter assay and RNA pull-down analysis were performed to validate the molecular interactions. The results showed an upregulation of LINC01347 in the placenta samples of RM patients and HTR-8/SVneo cells. LINC01347 overexpression impaired the invasion and migration of trophoblast cells, while LINC01347 silencing promoted cell migration and invasion. LINC01347 level was also negatively correlated with the changes of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) markers in trophoblasts. We further demonstrated that miR-101-3p/PTEN/AKT axis played an important role in mediating the biological roles of LINC01347 in the invasion and migration of trophoblasts. In conclusion, our results revealed that LINC01347 suppresses the migratory ability and regulates the EMT processes in trophoblasts by regulating miR-101-3p/PTEN/AKT axis, suggesting that targeting LINC01347 may serve as a strategy to ameliorate RM.

RESUMO

The rechargeable lithium-oxygen (Li-O2) batteries have been considered one of the promising energy storage systems owing to their high theoretical energy density. As an alternative to Li-O2 batteries based on lithium peroxide (Li2O2) cathode, cycling Li-O2 batteries via the formation and decomposition of lithium hydroxide (LiOH) has demonstrated great potential for the development of practical Li-O2 batteries. However, the reversibility of LiOH-based cathode chemistry remains unclear at the fundamental level. Here, we review the recent advances made in Li-O2 batteries based on LiOH formation and decomposition, focusing on the reaction mechanisms occurring at the cathode, as well as the stability of Li anode and cathode binder. We also provide our perspectives on future research directions for high-performance, reversible Li-O2 batteries.

RESUMO

Cisplatin (DDP) resistance is a principal cause leading to poor prognosis in females suffering from ovarian cancer (OC). Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) has been shown to have an involvement in regulating cellular processes; chemoresistance being one of them the precise object of this work was to probe into the role of lncRNA ACTA2-AS1 in OC cells that have developed DDP resistance. We developed DDP-resistant OC cell lines (A2780/DDP and SKOV3/DDP). The influence of the ACTA2-AS1/miR-378a-3p/Wnt5a axis on DDP chemoresistance of DDP-resistant OC cells was ascertained using real-time PCR, Elisa, and CCK-8, and dual-luciferase reporter assay. In DDP-resistant cells and tissues, ACTA2-AS1 was increased, while a substantial downregulation in miR-378a-3p was noticed. In cells manifesting DDP-resistance, knocking down ACTA2-AS1 boosted the expression of miR-378a-3p. Further research into the mechanism of ACTA2-AS1 revealed that it acted as a 'sponge' by getting involved in a competition against miR-378a-3p binding to modify its target Wnt5a. The suppression of DDP-resistance in OC cells caused by ACTA2-AS1 downregulation was reversed by silencing miR-378a-3p. Furthermore, via inhibition of Wnt5a, miR-378a-3p alleviated DDP resistance in OC cells. These findings show that for miR-378a-3p, ACTA2-AS1 works like a sponge thus preventing it from binding to Wnt5a and boosting OC cell DDP resistance. Our research will aid the expansion of plausible therapeutic options for treating OC.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: Cervical cancer (CC) has an elevated rate of invasion and death despite surgical treatment, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy. Several studies revealed that circRNAs have a key contribution to the resistance of drugs against different types of carcinomas. The goal of the existing study was to figure out what role circ_ZFR plays in paclitaxel (PTX) resistance in cervical cancer (CC) patients. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Herein, two types of CC cells (SiHa/PTX and Hela/PTX) were utilized. The levels of IL-10 mRNA, miR-944, and circ_ZFR were measured using qRT-PCR analyses. The CCK-8 assay was used to determine PTX resistance. The IL-10 expression was measured via the ELISA technique. The combination of miR-944 and circ_ZFR or IL-10 was validated using a dual-luciferase reporter (DLR) assay. RESULTS: The amount of circ_ZFR was increased in PTX-resistant CC cells and tissues. In PTX-resistant CC cells, knocking down circ_ZFR expression decreased PTX resistance. circ_ZFR knockdown significantly reduced IL-10 expression via sponging miR-944, increasing PTX sensitivity in PTX-resistant CC cells. CONCLUSION: circ_ZFR knockdown has a considerable role in overwhelming CC-associated PTX resistance by modifying the axis of miR-944/IL-10 axis, suggesting that developing a circRNA target-based treatment could be considered prevent CC progression.

RESUMO

Recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) is a common complication during early gestation, which is associated with aberrant DNA methylation. Zinc Finger and BTB Domain Containing 24 (ZBTB24) plays a critical role in facilitating DNA methylation and cell proliferation. However, the regulatory role of ZBTB24 on trophoblast development in RSA remains unclear. In this study, ZBTB24 expression was compared between decidua tissues of RSA patients and induced abortion controls from a published dataset, which was further validated in placental villi tissues by RT-qPCR and Western blot. The roles of ZBTB24 in trophoblast proliferation, differentiation, and migration were investigated by functional assays after ZBTB24 knockdown or overexpression in HTR-8/SVneo cells. Our results showed that ZBTB24 expression was significantly decreased in RSA patients, and ZBTB24 expression level positively regulated cell viability, differentiation, and migration in HTR-8/SVneo cells. We further demonstrated that ZBTB24 modulated the expression of E-cadherin by altering the DNA methylation at the promoter region. Overall, the downregulation of ZBTB24 is implicated in RSA by inhibiting trophoblast proliferation, differentiation, and migration. Therefore, ZBTB24 may serve as a promising therapeutic target and diagnostic marker for RSA.

RESUMO

High-capacity germanium-based anode materials are alternative materials for outstanding electrochemical performance lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), but severe volume variation and pulverization problems during charging-discharging processes can seriously affect their electrochemical performance. In addressing this challenge, a simple strategy was used to prepare the self-assembled GeOX/Ti3C2TX composite in which the GeOX nanoparticles can grow directly on Ti3C2TX layers. Nanoscale GeOX uniformly renucleates on the surface and interlayers of Ti3C2TX, forming the stable multiphase structure, which guarantees its excellent electrochemical performance. Electrochemical evaluation has shown that the rate capability and reversibility of GeOX/Ti3C2TX are both greatly improved, which delivers a reversible discharge specific capacity of above 1400 mAh g-1 (at 100 mA g-1) and a reversible specific capacity of 900 mAh g-1 after 50 cycles while it still maintains a stable specific capacity of 725 mAh g-1 at 5000 mA g-1. Furthermore, the composite exhibits an exceptionally superior rate capability, making it a good electrochemical performance anode for LIBs.

RESUMO

Transition-metal sulfides have been considered as promising anode materials for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) due to their high theoretical specific capacity and superior electrochemical performance. However, the large volume change during the discharge/charge process causes structural pulverization, resulting in rapid capacity decline and the loss of active materials. Herein, we report Co1-xS hollow spheres formed by in situ growth on reduced graphene oxide layers. When evaluated as an anode material for LIBs, it delivers a specific capacity of 969.8 mAh·g-1 with a high Coulombic efficiency of 96.49% after 90 cycles. Furthermore, a high reversible capacity of 527.2 mAh·g-1 after the 107th cycle at a current density of 2.5 A g-1 is still achieved. The results illustrate that in situ growth on the graphene layers can enhance conductivity and restrain volume expansion of cobalt sulfide compared with ex situ growth.

RESUMO

Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been discovered as significant regulators in a wide range of human cancers. Among them, lncRNA MNX1-AS1 has been proved to be an oncogene in ovarian cancer and glioblastoma. However, the regulatory mechanism of MNX1-AS1 in cervical cancer remains to be understood. Therefore, this study planned to explore the role of MNX1-AS1 in cervical cancer. In the beginning, we found that the expression of MNX1-AS1 was obviously upregulated in cervical cancer tissues and cell lines. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis revealed that patients with higher MNX1-AS1 expression level suffered from shorter overall survival time than those with lower MNX1-AS1 level. Moreover, by loss-of-function and gain-of-function assay, the effect of MNX1-AS1 on cell proliferation and apoptosis was examined on cellular level. Results showed that the proliferation of Hela cells was significantly inhibited and apoptosis enhanced by the transfection of shMNX1-AS1, while overexpressing MNX1-AS1 in E6E7 cells presented the contrary results. As for mechanism investigation, it was demonstrated that overexpression of MNX1-AS1 significantly improved the expression of p-ERK1/2 and p-JNK. And the effects of MNX1-AS1 on cell proliferation and apoptosis would be diminished after inactivating the phosphorylation of either ERK or JNK. Taken together, it was identified that MNX1-AS1 promoted proliferation and inhibited apoptosis of cervical cancer cells through MAPK pathway.

RESUMO

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with coordinatively unsaturated (open) metal sites have been intensively investigated in gas separations because their active sites can selectively interact with targeted molecules such as CO2. Although such MOFs have shown to exhibit exceptional CO2 uptake capacity at equilibrium, the dynamic separation behavior is often not satisfactory to be considered in practical applications. Herein, we report a facile and efficient self-sacrifice template strategy based on the nanoscale Kirkendall effect to form novel Co-MOF-74 hollow nanorods enabling adsorption/desorption of gas molecules in a facilitated manner. The time-dependent microscopic and diffraction examinations were performed to elucidate the formation mechanism of Co-MOF-74 hollow nanorods and to obtain insights into the factors critical to maintaining the rodlike morphology. Such nanostructured MOF exhibited much sharper CO2 molecular separation behavior than conventional MOF bulk crystals under a dynamic flow condition, because of its enhanced adsorption kinetics through the shortened diffusion distance. Such enhanced dynamic molecular separation behavior was further confirmed by chromatographic separations where a significant peak narrowing was demonstrated.
